Join our elite 24-month Cloud Infrastructure Graduate programme in London. Gain hands-on experience with AWS, professional certifications, and mentorship in a world-class engineering environment.

About the Company & Graduate Programme

Amazon is not just a retailer; we are a global leader in cloud computing, machine learning, and logistics. Our UK footprint, particularly across London and the South East, serves as a central hub for our European infrastructure and innovation strategy. We operate with a 'Day 1' philosophy, ensuring that even as we grow, we maintain the agility, customer obsession, and spirit of invention that defined us at our inception.

This graduate intake is pivotal to our ongoing mission to build the future of cloud technology. By joining our Graduate Cloud Infrastructure programme, you will be part of a diverse cohort tasked with maintaining, scaling, and optimizing the systems that power thousands of global businesses. We are deeply committed to early careers development, offering a structured environment where you are encouraged to experiment, fail fast, and build robust, scalable solutions that impact millions of customers every single day.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud services using AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, and Lambda.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional software development teams to troubleshoot complex system latency issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to present project updates and contribute to the architectural design of internal platform services.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability of mission-critical production environments.
  • Analyze system metrics to improve security, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence across our data centres.
  • Contribute to open-source initiatives and internal engineering blogs to document technical breakthroughs.
  • Transition through two distinct 12-month placements across core engineering, security, or data infrastructure teams.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • A minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrable passion for cloud computing and a strong desire to master distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex technical requirements into actionable work items.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, necessary for articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to demonstrate our 'Leadership Principles', particularly 'Customer Obsession' and 'Deliver Results'.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK without restriction; we provide full visa sponsorship for eligible international graduates on the Graduate Route.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Your 24-month journey is divided into two 12-month rotations, allowing you to gain breadth across our core technology domains. From day one, you are assigned a dedicated 'Buddy'—a recent graduate who will guide you through your first few weeks—and a Senior Mentor, typically an Engineering Manager, who will assist with long-term career planning and personal development.

In addition to technical on-the-job training, we provide a structured learning path leading to industry-standard AWS Certified Solutions Architect certifications. You will participate in regular workshops, technical hackathons, and global graduate summits, ensuring you stay at the cutting edge of cloud innovation while building a lifelong network of peers and leaders within the business.

Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package

  • Competitive base salary of £40,000 per annum, reviewed annually based on performance.
  • £2,000 sign-on bonus for all successful graduates joining the cohort.
  • Generous company pension contribution match up to 7% of base salary.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus 8 UK bank holidays.
  • Comprehensive private medical insurance and mental health support services.
  • Hybrid working allowance to support your home office setup.
  • Relocation assistance for graduates moving to the London area from outside the region.
  • Access to internal employee stock units (RSUs) after completion of the first year.
