Join Jaguar Land Rover's premier 24-month Graduate Engineering programme to lead the future of electric mobility. Benefit from multi-departmental rotations, CEng professional accreditation support, and a starting salary of £36,000.

About the Company & Graduate Programme

Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest automotive manufacturer, a global powerhouse at the forefront of the Reimagine strategy. We are redefining the future of modern luxury through design, sustainability, and technological innovation. Our footprint spans iconic manufacturing sites and advanced R&D hubs across the UK, serving as the heartbeat of British automotive engineering. We operate at the intersection of traditional mechanical craftsmanship and high-tech software engineering, creating vehicles that set the global benchmark for performance and refinement.

As a graduate joining our Future Talent Programme, you are not just an employee; you are a catalyst for change. This programme is designed to cultivate the next generation of leadership in our mission to electrify our vehicle portfolio by 2030. You will be immersed in a culture that values curiosity, bold thinking, and collaborative problem-solving, working on pivotal projects that bridge the gap between concept design and mass-market production in an increasingly digital world.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of discrete engineering work packages within electric powertrain or software-defined vehicle integration teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support the development and testing of next-generation battery management systems.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and CAD platforms to model component performance and drive system efficiency.
  • Participate in high-stakes project delivery meetings, providing progress updates to senior engineering leads and stakeholders.
  • Engage in hands-on vehicle prototyping and physical testing sessions at our dedicated testing tracks and lab facilities.
  • Apply data analytics and software scripting (Python) to interpret telemetry data, identifying opportunities for performance optimization.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our supply chain and manufacturing processes by identifying bottlenecks and proposing technical solutions.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • Hold or be predicted to receive a minimum 2:1 degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive), Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • A demonstrable analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable technical insights.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with a track record of effective teamwork and collaborative project delivery.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and a keen interest in sustainable transport technology.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK without restriction; we provide comprehensive visa sponsorship for successful international candidates.
  • Passion for innovation and a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Your 24-month journey is structured into three distinct 8-month rotations, ensuring you gain a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end vehicle lifecycle. Whether your rotations focus on software development, propulsion engineering, or production systems, you will be embedded within high-performing teams, learning directly from industry veterans and subject-matter experts.

Beyond technical on-the-job training, we invest heavily in your professional accreditation. You will be paired with a senior mentor to guide your career trajectory and an early-career buddy to help you integrate into the JLR culture. We provide financial support and protected study time to work towards professional status, including CEng (Chartered Engineer) status with the IET or IMechE, ensuring your qualification journey is as robust as your technical output.

Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package

  • Competitive starting base salary of £36,000 per annum.
  • Annual performance-based bonus scheme reflecting company success.
  • Generous pension scheme with company matching contributions up to 8%.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an option to purchase additional days.
