About the Company & Graduate Programme

GSK is a global biopharma company with a purpose to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together. Headquartered in London, we operate at the intersection of healthcare and cutting-edge digital transformation, leveraging AI and data analytics to accelerate drug discovery and optimize clinical trials. Our UK footprint is central to our global R&D strategy, and our graduates are viewed as the next generation of leadership who will drive our ambition to impact the health of billions.

Our early careers programme is specifically designed to transition high-potential graduates into business-critical roles. By joining GSK, you are not just an employee; you are an innovator tasked with solving complex global health challenges through technology. This programme is pivotal to our mission, providing a high-impact environment where your contributions directly influence the digital infrastructure supporting our life-saving pharmaceutical pipeline.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives within cross-functional teams, managing software development lifecycles (SDLC) for internal R&D tools.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to translate complex clinical requirements into actionable digital roadmaps.
  • Utilize cloud-based platforms (AWS/Azure) to manage and secure massive datasets derived from multi-center clinical trials.
  • Automate business processes using Python, SQL, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau to provide real-time reporting to the executive committee.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with global health regulations (GxP).
  • Manage agile sprints, facilitating daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of digital infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including machine learning models, to identify efficiencies in our drug manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • Degree disciplines: STEM (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics) or Business Informatics preferred.
  • Academic achievement: Minimum 2:1 degree (or predicted) from a recognised university.
  • Proven analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into strategy.
  • Demonstrated capability in problem-solving, having tackled ambiguous challenges during university projects or internships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork in a diverse, international, and fast-paced environment.
  • Right to work in the UK: Candidates must have the permanent right to work in the UK without sponsorship at the time of application.
  • Passion for healthcare and technology, demonstrating a clear desire to make a tangible difference in the pharmaceutical industry.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Our 24-month structured programme consists of three 8-month rotations across diverse departments, including Data Science, Digital Infrastructure, and Cyber Risk. This exposure allows you to build a comprehensive view of the pharmaceutical value chain while identifying your long-term career specialism. You will be fully supported in your professional development, with funding provided for industry-recognised certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, PRINCE2, or specialised data science credentials.

Each graduate is paired with a dedicated senior mentor from our leadership team and a 'buddy' who is a recent graduate alumnus. This support network provides guidance on navigating the corporate landscape, career planning, and personal wellbeing. You will participate in regular workshops and leadership forums designed to hone your soft skills, negotiation tactics, and strategic thinking in a global biopharma context.
