The Graduate Cloud Infrastructure programme is a pivotal career launchpad, designed to accelerate the development of the next generation of cloud engineers. You will join a cohort of exceptionally talented graduates, working directly within core engineering teams to solve real-world problems at scale. What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly scalable infrastructure components using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with senior engineering leads to troubleshoot and resolve complex distributed systems issues, ensuring 99.99% availability for critical services.
- Engage in rotational placements across Infrastructure, Security, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) departments to gain a 360-degree view of cloud operations.
- Utilise CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes, reducing manual intervention and increasing deployment velocity.
- Present technical project outcomes to senior leadership, articulating complex architectural decisions in a clear, actionable manner.
- Work with serverless computing, container orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes), and managed database services to optimise resource allocation and cost.
- Participate in deep-dive 'Post-Mortem' sessions following operational incidents to drive continuous improvement and systemic resilience.
Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility
- Hold (or be on track to graduate with) a 2:1 degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related STEM discipline.
- Possess a genuine passion for cloud computing and a strong desire to master distributed systems architectures.
- Demonstrable experience in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, C++, or Go) acquired through academic projects or internships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an ability to process large datasets and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional teamwork and collaboration ethics; we look for candidates who thrive in inclusive, diverse, and high-pressure engineering environments.
- Eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the programme (we provide full visa sponsorship for international graduates on the Graduate Route or Tier 2/Skilled Worker pathways).
Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship
The 24-month programme is structured into three eight-month rotations, allowing you to build foundational skills before specialising in an area that aligns with your professional interests. During these rotations, you will have access to a structured learning path, including Amazon-specific deep-dive workshops, cloud security certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect), and advanced technical training modules.
Every graduate is assigned a dedicated 'Buddy' from a previous cohort for day-to-day integration and a Senior Mentor from the engineering leadership team for long-term career planning. This dual-support model ensures you have both a peer to help you navigate our unique culture and a senior sponsor who advocates for your professional growth. You will be encouraged to take ownership of personal development goals, with regular check-ins and performance coaching provided throughout the scheme.
Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package
- Base Salary: Competitive starting base of £42,000 per annum.
