About the Company & Graduate Programme

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is a global leader in modern luxury automotive design, software architecture, and sustainable mobility. As we accelerate our electrification journey towards a net-zero carbon future under our vision, our London Digital & Engineering Hub plays a critical role in developing next-generation connected vehicle systems, autonomous tech frameworks, and cloud telemetry solutions. Joining JLR means becoming part of an iconic heritage brand that continuously redefines the boundaries of automotive technology and human-centric design.

Our Graduate Programme is designed to nurture the next generation of digital pioneers and engineering leaders. We place early talent at the heart of key strategic initiatives, providing immediate access to cutting-edge projects and high-impact technology stacks. You will work alongside world-class software engineers, hardware architects, and product managers to deliver seamless digital experiences to millions of drivers worldwide.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software solutions for next-generation electric vehicle architecture and infotainment systems.
  • Collaborate on cloud-connected vehicle telemetry platforms using AWS, microservices, and modern DevOps pipelines.
  • Develop and optimize low-level embedded software modules, integrating C++ and Python scripts with vehicle hardware controllers.
  • Conduct automated testing, integration verification, and SIL/HIL (Software/Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulations.
  • Participate in Agile cross-functional teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews.
  • Support data analytics initiatives by harvesting vehicle diagnostic data to enhance predictive maintenance and battery management systems.
  • Present technical proposals and milestone results to senior software architects and program stakeholders.
  • Engage in user-centric digital UI/UX features for connected mobility services and smartphone integration.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • Achieved or expecting a minimum 2:1 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Data Science, or related STEM discipline.
  • Graduating in 2024, 2025, or 2026.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or Rust.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities with a keen interest in automotive software, IoT, or autonomous mobility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive mindset with a track record of team collaboration, adaptability, and continuous self-directed learning.
  • Full right to work in the UK, with Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship available for exceptional eligible candidates.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Our structured 2-year Graduate Programme offers a comprehensive blend of experiential learning, technical depth, and strategic exposure. Over 24 months, you will complete four 6-month rotational placements across diverse software divisions, including Connected Car Platforms, Battery Management Systems, Cloud Microservices, and In-Vehicle Infotainment. This breadth ensures you build a complete 360-degree understanding of modern software engineering within an automotive ecosystem.

To accelerate your career growth, you will be assigned a Senior Principal Engineer as your personal mentor alongside a peer buddy from a previous graduate cohort. You will receive structured support toward achieving professional chartered status (such as CEng with the IET or BCS) alongside funded certification pathways in cloud engineering (AWS/Azure) and Agile methodologies (Scrum Developer).

Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package

  • Highly competitive base salary of £35,000 per annum, with structured performance-based salary reviews every six months.
  • £2,000 sign-on welcome bonus plus eligibility for the annual company performance bonus.
