Join KPMG UK's flagship Tax Technology graduate programme to bridge the gap between law and software. You will earn professional qualifications, engage with FTSE 100 clients, and drive digital transformation in a supportive, high-growth environment.

About the Company & Graduate Programme

KPMG UK is a leading professional services firm, renowned for its influence across audit, tax, and advisory services. With a robust presence in the City of London, our firm operates at the heart of the UK's financial ecosystem, helping some of the world's largest organizations navigate complex regulatory and technological shifts. Our commitment to early careers is unmatched, as we believe that our next generation of leaders will drive the digital transformation required to sustain our competitive edge.

This graduate intake is pivotal to our Tax Technology & Innovation practice. As global tax authorities increasingly adopt digital reporting standards, our clients rely on us to bridge the gap between human expertise and automated solutions. You will be joining an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives, continuous learning, and a spirit of innovation. We provide a platform for graduates to challenge the status quo, work on high-profile projects, and contribute to the firm's overarching purpose of building trust and driving sustainable growth for our clients and the UK economy.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to translate complex tax legislation into technical business requirements.
  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of global tax software platforms, including ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle) and bespoke cloud solutions.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders from FTSE 100 clients to map business processes, identify pain points, and propose technological optimizations.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics and visualization tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) to provide actionable insights for tax departments.
  • Participate in the end-to-end lifecycle of IT implementation projects, from requirement gathering and testing to final user training.
  • Support internal innovation labs by prototyping new software tools and contributing to the development of proprietary KPMG technology products.
  • Manage project documentation, track key performance indicators, and present progress updates to internal engagement managers.
  • Stay abreast of emerging tech trends such as AI and machine learning to understand their application in the future of the tax function.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in any discipline, though STEM or Business-related subjects are preferred due to the technical nature of the role.
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills, with a proven ability to solve complex problems through critical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating an ability to translate technical findings into clear, impactful narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
  • An inquisitive mindset, showing a genuine passion for technology and its intersection with the evolving business landscape.
  • Proficiency in teamwork and collaboration, being capable of thriving in high-paced, multi-cultural project environments.
  • Resilience and a growth mindset, showing an aptitude for learning new software systems and regulatory frameworks rapidly.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK without restriction at the commencement of employment; we offer visa sponsorship for eligible international candidates through the Graduate Route or Skilled Worker visa pathways.
  • A commitment to excellence and high professional integrity consistent with KPMG’s values.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Our 24-month structured programme is designed to cultivate both your technical acumen and leadership potential. During this time, you will undertake two or three rotational placements across different sub-service lines within Tax Technology, allowing you to gain breadth in implementation, data analysis, and advisory. You will be fully supported in pursuing professional qualifications, such as the ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) or specific cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), with all study leave and exam costs covered by the firm.

Beyond formal training, you will be supported by a dedicated 'buddy'—a peer who recently completed the graduate scheme—to help you navigate your first few months. You will also be paired with a senior mentor, usually a Director or Partner, who will provide guidance on your long-term career trajectory and help you expand your professional network within the firm. This dual-support system ensures that your development is holistic, focusing on both your technical expertise and your soft skills.

Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package

  • Competitive base salary of £34,000 - £36,000 per annum, reviewable based on performance and qualification milestones.
