About the Company & Graduate Programme

NatWest Group is a relationship-driven bank for a digital world, serving over 19 million customers across the United Kingdom. As the largest business and commercial bank in the UK, we are fundamentally reshaping the financial services industry through innovation, technology, and data-driven insights. Our digital transformation is not just about updating legacy systems; it is about humanising banking and making it simpler, faster, and more accessible for everyone.

Our Graduate Programme is the cornerstone of our talent strategy, designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders who will drive our digital future. By joining the Data & Analytics stream, you will become part of a high-performing team that uses cutting-edge machine learning, cloud-based data architecture, and advanced analytics to solve real-world problems. We value diversity of thought and provide an environment where your voice matters, your curiosity is encouraged, and your professional growth is our shared priority.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key business challenges and develop data-led strategies to solve them.
  • Utilise SQL, Python, and cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud to manipulate, analyse, and visualise complex data sets.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of predictive models that assist in fraud detection, risk management, and customer experience optimisation.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to present data-driven narratives that inform high-level business decision-making.
  • Participate in end-to-end project delivery, moving from hypothesis formulation and data extraction to model deployment and performance monitoring.
  • Support the digitisation of banking operations by automating reporting processes and improving data governance standards.
  • Work alongside data engineers, software developers, and business analysts to foster an agile culture of continuous improvement.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • You must hold or be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or higher) in any discipline, though STEM or quantitative backgrounds are particularly advantageous.
  • You possess a natural curiosity and a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret complex information and derive actionable insights.
  • You are a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working with data and is comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with colleagues across various business lines.
  • You demonstrate resilience, a willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies quickly.
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the programme.
  • We encourage applications from individuals with a strong ethical compass and a passion for NatWest’s 'Purpose-Led' banking initiatives.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Your 24-month journey is structured into four six-month rotations, allowing you to gain breadth of experience across our Digital, Commercial, and Retail business segments. This rotational model ensures you develop a holistic understanding of how data powers a major financial institution. Alongside your rotations, you will have access to a bespoke learning curriculum, including internal masterclasses, technical bootcamps, and the opportunity to pursue professional qualifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, CFA, or specialist Data Science certifications.

Support is integral to our programme. Upon joining, you will be paired with a dedicated 'Buddy'—a previous graduate who can help you navigate life at NatWest—and a senior Mentor, who will provide guidance on your long-term career trajectory. This structure ensures that you are constantly challenged, supported, and stretched, providing the perfect foundation for a successful career in data analytics.
