HSBC is one of the world's largest banking and financial services organisations, serving more than 40 million customers globally. With a deep-rooted presence in the UK, we act as a gateway for international trade and investment. Our Global Banking & Markets division is at the heart of our success, providing sophisticated financial solutions to governments, corporations, and institutions. Our Graduate Programme is pivotal to our long-term strategy of nurturing diverse, high-potential talent. We recognise that the financial landscape is evolving rapidly; therefore, we invest heavily in early careers to foster future leaders who can navigate complexity. You will join a cohort of exceptionally talented peers, receiving unparalleled exposure to the inner workings of a systemic global bank, ensuring you are equipped with the technical depth and strategic mindset required to succeed in a modern, competitive financial ecosystem.

- Rotate through three distinct desks including Global Markets, Capital Financing, and Securities Services to gain a holistic view of the banking lifecycle.
- Support senior stakeholders in the execution of complex multi-million pound debt and equity transactions.
- Utilise advanced quantitative tools and data visualisation software (such as Python, SQL, and Tableau) to conduct real-time market analysis and risk assessments.
- Prepare high-level pitch decks, briefing notes, and market intelligence reports to support client relationship management.
- Contribute to cross-functional fintech projects focused on automation and the integration of blockchain/distributed ledger technology in trade finance.
- Participate in live deal execution, assisting with due diligence, financial modelling, and regulatory compliance reporting.
- Attend daily market briefings and contribute insights to team discussions on macro-economic shifts and regional performance.

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesise large, complex datasets into actionable business intelligence.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Intellectual curiosity and a passion for global markets, current affairs, and the evolving role of banking in society.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship
Your 24-month journey is designed to transition you from a graduate to a high-performing professional. The structured rotations occur every 8 months, allowing you to build a broad network and identify where your specific strengths lie—whether in front-office trading, research, or operational strategy. You will be fully supported by a dedicated Graduate Manager and a senior leader who acts as your mentor for the duration of the scheme.
Professional development is a cornerstone of our offer. We provide financial support and protected study time for internationally recognised qualifications, including the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or ACCA, depending on your rotational stream. Additionally, you will participate in an extensive training curriculum that covers financial regulations, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, and advanced digital skills training to ensure you remain at the forefront of industry innovation.
Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package
- Competitive base salary starting at £38,000 per annum, with potential for increases upon rotation progression.
- Annual performance-related bonus scheme linked to individual and business outcomes.
- Generous pension contribution scheme, with HSBC matching up to 10% of your contributions.
