About the Company & Graduate Programme

NatWest Group is a relationship bank for a digital world. With a presence spanning the length and breadth of the UK, we serve over 19 million customers and remain a cornerstone of the British economy. Our digital transformation strategy is currently the most ambitious in the industry, as we pivot towards cloud-native architecture, AI-driven insights, and customer-centric mobile experiences. We don't just process transactions; we empower our customers to thrive financially by leveraging data to make banking simpler, faster, and more secure.

As a graduate joining our Data & Technology stream, you become part of an innovative culture that values curiosity, diversity, and long-term thinking. This intake is pivotal to our mission, as we require the next generation of analysts and engineers to bridge the gap between complex data sets and strategic business decision-making. You will be immersed in a high-performance environment where your contributions directly influence how we build digital products that are used by millions every day.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate through core digital departments, including Data Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and Customer Analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automated data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark.
  • Support the delivery of large-scale digital projects, ensuring that technology solutions meet strict regulatory and security standards.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to interpret data insights and present findings that influence bank-wide product roadmaps.
  • Utilize modern cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud to optimize data storage and processing efficiency.
  • Participate in agile sprints, contributing to code reviews, system documentation, and real-world software troubleshooting.
  • Identify opportunities for machine learning integration to improve customer journey mapping and personalization.
  • Drive innovation in financial modelling, using advanced analytics to identify emerging market trends and risks.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • We accept applications from any degree discipline (STEM, Business, Humanities, or Social Sciences), provided you demonstrate an analytical mindset.
  • A minimum predicted or achieved 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent).
  • Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with an ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team, showing adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • A keen interest in the future of FinTech, digital transformation, and the ethical use of data.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is required; experience with programming languages (Python, R, SQL) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Must have the permanent legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship (or be eligible for the Graduate Route visa for the duration of the programme).

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Our structured 24-month Graduate Programme is designed to accelerate your professional growth. You will complete four 6-month rotations across diverse business areas, providing a holistic understanding of how data and technology power our banking operations. During these rotations, you will be embedded into live project squads, gaining hands-on experience while receiving continuous performance feedback. We recognize that formal qualifications are key to your success, and we will support you in achieving professional certifications relevant to your stream, such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Data Engineer, or relevant industry-recognized analytical qualifications.

You will never be left to navigate your career alone. Every graduate is paired with a dedicated 'Buddy' from a previous cohort to help you settle in, and a senior Mentor from the leadership team who will provide career guidance, networking opportunities, and long-term professional development support. Our internal learning platform, 'NatWest Learning,' provides access to thousands of courses to sharpen both your technical and leadership soft skills.
