Join Jaguar Land Rover's 24-month Future Engineers Programme in London. Drive the transition to electric mobility through structured rotations, professional CEng support, and hands-on exposure to next-generation battery technology.

About the Company & Graduate Programme

Jaguar Land Rover stands as a titan of the British automotive sector, currently undergoing the most significant transformation in its 85-year history. As we pivot towards a 'Reimagine' strategy, our focus is firmly set on becoming an electric-first, modern luxury business. We are not just building cars; we are architecting the future of mobility by integrating cutting-edge software, carbon-neutral manufacturing, and next-generation electric propulsion systems.

Our Graduate Future Engineers Programme is the heartbeat of this transition. By joining us, you are not merely filling a vacancy; you are becoming an integral part of a global team that values radical innovation and heritage in equal measure. We provide an environment where early careers are nurtured through high-stakes project exposure, ensuring that our graduates are the driving force behind the electrification of our iconic Range Rover, Defender, and Jaguar brands.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the development and validation of battery management systems (BMS) for high-performance electric vehicles.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and simulation using MATLAB/Simulink to optimize motor control algorithms and powertrain efficiency.
  • Participate in 6-month rotational placements across Systems Engineering, Hardware Design, and Vehicle Integration departments.
  • Engage with senior engineering stakeholders to present findings on thermal management and energy density improvements.
  • Utilize modern CAD software and PLM tools to iterate on mechanical and electrical interface designs.
  • Support cross-functional squads in the implementation of Agile project management methodologies.
  • Assist in the prototyping phase of experimental vehicle architectures, ensuring adherence to strict safety and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the 'Reimagine' sustainability objectives by reducing carbon impact within the propulsion supply chain.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • Hold or be predicted to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (or related STEM discipline).
  • Demonstrate a profound passion for electric mobility, sustainability, and technological advancement in the automotive sector.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Show evidence of effective teamwork and leadership in extracurricular activities, university projects, or internships.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Resilience and a growth mindset, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving industrial environment.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in the UK without restriction; we provide full visa sponsorship for international graduates on the Graduate Route.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Our 24-month programme is meticulously designed to transform academic talent into technical leadership. You will complete four distinct 6-month rotations, allowing you to gain breadth across the vehicle lifecycle. From initial concept design to final validation on the test track, you will understand the intricate interplay between hardware and software systems. This holistic approach ensures you are prepared for a permanent technical or management role upon completion.

Professional development is paramount. You will be paired with a Senior Engineer mentor who will guide your technical growth and provide career coaching. Furthermore, JLR provides full financial and administrative support for those working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the IET or IMechE. You will also have access to our internal Learning & Development portal, offering certifications in EV technology, project management, and digital engineering tools.
