About the Company & Graduate Programme

Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest automotive manufacturer and a global leader in the transition toward sustainable luxury mobility. With our 'Reimagine' strategy, we are at the forefront of the electric revolution, transforming our iconic brands to deliver modern, luxury, and electrified vehicles. Our footprint extends across advanced manufacturing plants, world-class research hubs, and software engineering centres, making us a cornerstone of the UK’s industrial innovation strategy.

Our Graduate Programme is designed to cultivate the next generation of technical leaders. As we pivot towards an all-electric future, we are seeking graduates who are passionate about complex systems, sustainable engineering, and digital transformation. This intake is pivotal to our success, as it focuses on embedding new perspectives and high-tech skill sets directly into our core product development teams, ensuring we remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global market.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in 24-month rotational placements across Software Engineering, Electric Powertrain, and Connected Car Architecture.
  • Collaborate with senior cross-functional teams to design, test, and integrate software-defined vehicle features.
  • Utilize industry-standard modelling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and CAD to prototype electric system components.
  • Engage in hands-on vehicle testing, troubleshooting high-voltage battery systems in controlled lab environments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning sessions to deliver project milestones on time and to quality.
  • Present technical findings to senior stakeholders, including department heads and engineering directors.
  • Contribute to the automation of testing pipelines to improve software deployment speed and safety.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • Degree disciplines: Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • A strong analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving in complex, high-pressure environments.
  • Demonstrated teamwork capabilities, gained through academic group projects, society leadership, or work experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must hold the right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme (we provide comprehensive visa sponsorship where applicable).
  • An interest in the automotive sector and a desire to contribute to carbon-neutral mobility solutions.
  • A 'growth mindset'—a commitment to continuous learning and the ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

From day one, you will be paired with a dedicated 'Buddy'—a recent graduate who knows exactly what you are going through—and a Senior Mentor who will provide long-term career coaching. We also offer full support for your professional chartership journey (e.g., CEng with the IET/IMechE) and provide access to continuous professional development (CPD) modules, including AWS Cloud practitioner and automotive cyber-security certifications.
