Join a prestigious 24-month Graduate Technology Analyst programme at Barclays London. This scheme offers rotational placements, professional certifications, and hands-on work with global financial technology, all while being supported by a dedicated mentorship network.

About the Company & Graduate Programme

Barclays is a British universal bank with a reach spanning over 40 countries and a legacy of over 300 years. As a technology-forward institution, we are at the forefront of digital transformation, blending traditional financial expertise with cutting-edge fintech innovation. Our commitment to early careers is unmatched; we view our graduates as the architects of our future, empowering you to solve complex technical challenges that impact millions of customers and clients worldwide.

This Graduate Technology Analyst intake is a pivotal initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of leadership within our firm. You will work directly on high-visibility projects, from cloud infrastructure and cyber security to AI-driven banking solutions. By joining our London-based cohort, you become part of a global team that fosters inclusion, ingenuity, and integrity, ensuring you are not just an observer of the fintech evolution, but a primary driver of it.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions using Java, Python, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Engage in rotational placements spanning Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, and Investment Bank Technology to gain a holistic view of the financial ecosystem.
  • Participate in the end-to-end development lifecycle, from gathering business requirements to testing and final deployment within our production environments.
  • Leverage modern development tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins to streamline continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Work alongside senior stakeholders and architects to identify process inefficiencies and implement innovative automation strategies.
  • Analyse large datasets using SQL and Big Data tools to provide actionable business intelligence and support strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to internal hackathons and technology forums, showcasing your creativity and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Uphold stringent security and regulatory standards across all technological implementations, ensuring compliance within the global banking framework.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree (or international equivalent) in any discipline, though STEM subjects are particularly advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical and logical thinking skills, with an innate desire to understand complex systems and troubleshoot technical obstacles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
  • A collaborative mindset; you should be a proactive team player who thrives in a diverse and high-paced corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated resilience and adaptability, particularly when handling competing priorities or tight project deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in the intersection of finance and technology and the impact of digital disruption on global markets.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK; please note that Barclays offers visa sponsorship for successful candidates where required.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Your 24-month journey is structured to ensure you gain maximum exposure. You will rotate across three distinct business areas, allowing you to build a broad technical toolkit while identifying where your specific interests and talents lie. This structured approach is complemented by continuous learning opportunities, including internal bespoke technical training and support for external professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or industry-recognised Cybersecurity qualifications.

Mentorship is at the core of your experience. Every graduate is paired with a dedicated 'buddy'—a graduate from a previous cohort—and a senior mentor from the business. These relationships provide you with the guidance, network access, and emotional support needed to transition successfully from university to a high-pressure, rewarding professional career within a global tier-one bank.

Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package

  • Competitive base salary of £38,000 per annum.
  • Annual discretionary performance-based bonus eligibility.
