About the Company & Graduate Programme

BT Group is the UK’s leading telecommunications and network provider, serving as the digital backbone of the nation. With an unparalleled reach, we connect millions of customers, businesses, and government agencies to the world through our fixed-line, broadband, and mobile networks. As we transition into a global leader in AI, cloud integration, and cybersecurity, we are looking for the next generation of bright minds to help us build the infrastructure of tomorrow. Our culture is defined by 'The BT Way'—a commitment to collaboration, diversity, and relentless innovation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Our Graduate Technology Analyst Programme is pivotal to our long-term strategy. We recognise that the future of UK connectivity depends on fresh perspectives, analytical rigour, and a drive to challenge the status quo. By joining this programme, you will be embedded within high-impact technical teams at the forefront of digital transformation. We invest heavily in our graduates because we believe they are the future leaders who will navigate the complexities of 5G, software-defined networking, and enterprise cloud solutions, ensuring BT remains at the cutting edge of global telecommunications.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate across three different technical departments over 24 months, including Cloud Engineering, Cyber Defence, and Network Strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify technical requirements for large-scale enterprise network deployments.
  • Utilise industry-standard tools such as AWS, Azure, Python, and SQL to analyse massive datasets and improve network efficiency.
  • Contribute to the automation of routine infrastructure tasks using CI/CD pipelines to streamline service delivery.
  • Participate in agile sprint planning, scrum ceremonies, and retrospectives within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations to product owners based on market analysis and performance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical incidents and contribute to the root cause analysis of network performance bottlenecks.

Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility

  • A minimum 2:1 degree (predicted or achieved) in any STEM discipline, or a degree with a strong emphasis on data, logic, or business strategy.
  • Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • A passion for technology and a genuine interest in the future of telecommunications and cloud innovation.
  • Right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme (we provide visa sponsorship for eligible international candidates).
  • Resilience and a proactive attitude towards continuous professional development and personal growth.

Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship

Your 24-month journey is structured to ensure maximum exposure and skill acquisition. You will complete four 6-month rotations, each offering deep-dives into different facets of our business. Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated support for professional certifications, including AWS Cloud Practitioner, Cisco CCNA, or project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or Agile Scrum Master, fully funded by the company.

Beyond formal training, you will be paired with a dedicated 'buddy'—a graduate from a previous cohort—to help you navigate your first few months. You will also have a senior mentor from the business who will provide career guidance, technical coaching, and networking opportunities. We host regular workshops and 'lunch and learn' sessions with our senior leadership team, ensuring you have the visibility and guidance needed to launch a successful career within the firm.
