What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy 5G network upgrades and edge computing services.
- Engage in rotational placements spanning Network Operations, Cyber Security, Software Defined Networking (SDN), and IoT Product Development.
- Utilize modern development tools including Python, SQL, Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and advanced network simulation software.
- Analyze large datasets to monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend technical infrastructure improvements.
- Support senior stakeholders in technical presentations to enterprise clients, translating complex network configurations into actionable business solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile project delivery cycles within an established DevOps framework.
- Lead individual research projects focused on future-tech trends such as Open RAN (O-RAN) or AI-driven network automation.
- Document system architectures and compliance standards to ensure Vodafone’s network remains a gold-standard in the UK sector.
Who We Are Looking For & Candidate Eligibility
- Degree in STEM disciplines (Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Science preferred).
- Minimum 2:1 degree classification (achieved or predicted) from an accredited university.
- Exceptional analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative spirit and evidence of leadership, either through academic projects, extra-curriculars, or previous work experience.
- Adaptability and a hunger for continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and Cloud computing.
- Right to work in the UK without restriction; Vodafone UK provides visa sponsorship for successful candidates where required.
Graduate Training, Rotations & Mentorship
Your 24-month journey is divided into four six-month rotations, giving you a comprehensive view of our technological landscape. You will be paired with a dedicated buddy (a recent graduate) and a senior mentor who is a subject matter expert in their field to guide your career progression. This structure ensures you are supported whilst taking ownership of real-world challenges.
Beyond on-the-job training, we provide formal professional qualification support. Whether it is gaining industry-recognized certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or professional registration towards CEng status, we provide the time, financial backing, and resources to help you gain the qualifications needed to fast-track your career path at Vodafone.
Salary, Bonus & Benefits Package
- Competitive starting base salary of £35,000 per annum.
- Annual performance-based bonus scheme typically equating to 5-10% of base salary.
